Dave has received the big news his longtime crush Janine has gotten pregnant from a one night stand. Janine confesses this crush was mutual, and makes a surprising proposal to prevent her from being a single mom.
From the Short Stories Erotica Bundle:
He nods. “I’m happy about that. I’m happy that you’re not … in a crazy deep depression or really angry or anything like that, you know? But I’m still worried about you. Did you tell Elijah?”
Janine scoffs and wipes at her eyes. “I never even got his last name. We haven’t exchanged a single text. He’s never followed up. You know, I’m pretty sure that he’s just obsessed with having babies. I think he has some kind of impregnation kink.”
“Really?” Dave asks.
“Well yeah. Everything was about babies and he asked to breed me and I just don’t want to give him the satisfaction that he succeeded. I don’t need a man like him in my life. Definitely don’t need him when it comes to parenting,” she sneers.
Dave can’t believe how all this happened. He could have stopped it. Could have said he was sick, that he didn’t want to stick around. There were options and he didn’t take any of them. But it was Janine’s choice too. He doesn’t like thinking about Elijah with her or her having a piece of him growing inside her. It makes him feel almost sick, especially since he was there and saw it all.
“Do you hate me now?” Janine asks softly.
“I was hurt about it. That night was weird and not hearing you for three months hurt,” he admits.
“It was so awkward! I wanted to forget that night. I mean, parts were good, but the shame I felt just kept getting worse and you saw it all and …” she shakes her head. “I wouldn’t blame you if you hated me.”
“I don’t,” he insists, rubbing her knee. “I don’t, honestly. I processed and I had plenty of time to do that and now with this … I get it.”
She swallows and looks away from him. That’s not like her. Dave prepares himself for a worse conversation, then she takes a slow breath. “I want to ask a favor and … and you can say no, of course, but I have to ask all the same.”
“Okay.”
“I’d like to get married to you. I like you. We work well together and … and the shame of being a single mom, trying to raise a child on my own or worse – with someone who will only be there when forced .. it’s eating me alive. So will you .. will you marry me?”
Dave almost laughs, since he’s sure it’s a joke, but when her eyes meet his, he realizes how serious he is. She looks away, her face flushing, eyes watering and he rubs the back of his neck. She nods. “I shouldn’t have asked. You’ve only seen me as a friend.”
“It’s not …” he doesn’t want to out his feelings, but if Janine is serious, he has to. “I mean, I was jealous that night. I felt humiliated since I couldn’t stop myself from watching, but I was pissy and jealous and didn’t know how to …”
Janine takes a breath and puts her hand on his before meeting his eyes. Her gaze is soft, honest, vulnerable. “You know I’m love with you, right? I wanted you to join in, honestly. I was hoping you’d flirt or something. I just … I’ve been in love with you and wasn’t sure how you felt, couldn’t handle the chance of rejection and clearly, now I have bigger fears so … yeah. There it is.”
Dave looks at her for a long moment. He thinks he’s actually hearing some kind of clock ticking in his head as he tries to put the pieces together. She didn’t realize he was interested? Even though he was eager to spend time with her constantly, even though he rarely turned her down if she invited him out, even though he was clearly not enjoying being around Elijah and her flirting?
He leans towards her and gently kisses her. It’s soft, just his lips pressed to hers until her part. He licks along the inside of her top lip, then sucks her bottom lip before drawing back. He’s not sure how to admit how he feels, but when he draws back, she stands. Seeing her standing in front of him, her eyes on him, her hand guiding him up … Dave ends up standing too and sharing another soft kiss.
“Maybe sometime down the road we can have a baby on our own. On purpose. Because we want to.”
Dave presses his body into Janine’s. He can feel the small bump of her belly. She’s pregnant, that’s obvious just looking at her. She has a thicker body and there’s this kind of healthiness about her that he can’t ignore.
But this is crazy, it’s bizarre. It shouldn’t feel so right. But as she snuggles against him, rubbing her body against his, he’s sure they’re a perfect fit. His arms wrap around her and it all feels natural, easy. Her warmth melts Dave’s heart. He can’t resist her and doesn’t want to, not really.
Why should he punish himself for wanting her? Why shouldn’t he have this?
Janine removes one overall strap to the side as Dave continues kissing her softly, then deeper, and deeper. She pushes the other strap over her shoulder, letting overalls slide to her hips. She arches her back, her ass pushing out so her overalls drop to the floor. When Dave deepens their kiss, his tongue teasing her slowly, languidly, as if he’s enjoying the kiss and doesn’t necessarily need it to push forward
Which only turns her on more. She strokes his arms, his chest, feeling the man she was sure she’d never get to have. It’s better than she could have dreamed.
“Please,” she whispers. “If you want me at all …”
He groans and grips her hips, seeming to only then realize that she’s undressed herself at all. Dave just stares at her as she takes off her sweater, dropping it on the floor, making her hair all fuzzy. He remembers how she looked at Elijah, with desire, but conflict. There’s no conflict now. If anything she looks shy.
Dave rubs over her sides. Her belly’s bigger than it should be for how pregnant she is. He can actually cup his hands around her belly. It’s amazing that no one has figured it out. Her breasts are even better. They seem like they’re two cup sizes bigger and they’re trying to spill out of her comparatively little bra.
